Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Pool Games, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with The Pool desktop application and website (collectively, the "Service").

The short version: Your game data stays on your machine. We don't collect it, we don't see it, and we can't access it. The only information we handle is what's necessary to process your subscription and communicate with you.

1. Information We Collect

Subscription and payment information. When you purchase a subscription, our payment processor (LemonSqueezy) collects your name, email address, and payment details. We receive your email address and license key from LemonSqueezy to manage your subscription. We do not directly store or process credit card numbers or banking information.

Email address (waitlist). If you sign up for our pre-launch email list, we collect your email address for the sole purpose of notifying you when the Service is available.

Support communications. If you contact us at support@thepool.gg, we retain the content of those communications to respond to your request.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

The Pool is a desktop application that runs entirely on your computer. We want to be explicit about what we do not collect:

Game data. All hand histories, session data, NPC behavioral metadata, export files, and game state are stored locally on your device. We never access, transmit, or collect this data.
Usage analytics. We do not embed analytics, telemetry, or tracking software in the application.
Device fingerprinting. We do not collect hardware identifiers, IP addresses, or system specifications through the application.
Cookies (application). The desktop application does not use cookies or web tracking technologies.

3. How We Use Information

The limited information we collect is used for:

Processing and managing your subscription
Validating your license key
Sending you important service communications (e.g., billing issues, major updates)
Responding to support requests

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

LemonSqueezy — Payment processing and subscription management. LemonSqueezy processes your payment information under their own privacy policy.
Cloudflare — Website hosting and infrastructure. Cloudflare may process standard web request data (IP addresses, browser type) in accordance with their privacy policy when you visit our website.

We do not use advertising networks, social media trackers, or third-party analytics services.

5. Data Retention

We retain your email address and license key for the duration of your subscription and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping and legal compliance. If you request deletion of your data, we will honor that request within 30 days. Support communications are retained for up to 24 months.

6. Your Data, Your Control

Because your game data lives entirely on your device, you have full control over it at all times. You can export, back up, or delete your data at any point by managing the files on your computer. Uninstalling the application removes all local game data.

For any personal information we hold (email, subscription records), you may:

Request a copy of the information we have about you
Request correction of inaccurate information
Request deletion of your information

7. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect the limited personal information we handle. Subscription management is handled by LemonSqueezy's secure infrastructure. Our website is served over HTTPS via Cloudflare.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly.

9. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have the right to request information about personal data we have collected, request deletion of that data, and opt out of any sale of personal data. We do not sell personal data. To exercise your rights, contact support@thepool.gg.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by email. The "Effective" date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised.
